Gabumon is a creature of data and energy, created to be a companion and protector to the Chosen Child of Friendship, Yamato Ishida (angry_friendship_wolf). He's a shy, timid sort, and having spent most of his life totally alone and waiting for his partner, is not necessarily the best at dealing with people, although not for lack of earnestly trying.

Appearing as a bipedal lizard with a large horn wearing the pelt of a wolf, he has the ability to evolve into several further forms (most of which, perhaps confusingly, are actual wolves) with Yamato's help. With each form, he becomes progressively sharper, more mature, and colder, but his core personality remains more or less the same.
